Playa del Carmen – Four international festivals, four official selections. Quinn will next be screened in Sardinia as part of the official selection of the Andaras Traveling Film Festival, where it will be shown on 3 July. Directed by Gianluca Mangiasciutti and Stefano Usberghi and produced by GM Production, the short film premiered in Lille as the only Italian short in competition before being selected for the 17th LGBT+ Film Festival Poland 2026. Following its Sardinian screening, the film will travel to Mexico in November, where it has also been selected to compete at the Queer International Film Festival in Playa del Carmen. Quinn follows a young person searching for their sexual identity who, after suffering a brutal assault, sets out to track down the attacker. Alongside this central storyline, the film explores the protagonist's doubts and struggles with their own body and with the world around them. These themes unfold against the backdrop of an unusual Rome – not the monumental or suburban city typically portrayed, but an anonymous urban landscape of underground passages, metro corridors and streets where life flows on with indifference, creating an atmosphere that is at times bleak and unsettling. The ending deliberately leaves the story unresolved, remaining open and ambiguous. The two lead roles are played by Costantino Seghi and Filippo De Carli, two emerging actors who deliver mature performances in demanding roles. Distributed by Sayonara Film, Quinn marks the production debut of GM Production, the independent production company and film division of Gruppo Matches, and has now earned its fourth official festival selection.
