New York – The Brunello di Montalcino Wine Consortium will be among the premier highlights aboard the historic tall ship Amerigo Vespucci, which docked in New York on July 5 as part of its 2026 North American tour. The institutional project, aimed at promoting "Made in Italy" excellence, is spearheaded by the Italian Ministry of Defense and the Italian Navy, in collaboration with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Culture, Sport and Youth, and Disabilities, with support from the ITA (Italian Trade Agency).
Selected as a flagship ambassador of Italian winemaking excellence in the United States, the top export market for the denomination—the Consortium will take part in official events hosted on the vessel to mark the upcoming launch of Vinitaly.Usa (scheduled for October 26-27). Notably, the Consortium will serve as the exclusive red wine partner for the evening, pouring a curated selection of Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino during both the official institutional toast and the formal gala dinner.
“Being on board the Amerigo Vespucci, a global icon of Italian heritage and identity, is an extraordinary opportunity to showcase our wines in a setting that beautifully blends diplomacy, promotion, and national pride,” said Giacomo Bartolommei, President of the Brunello di Montalcino Wine Consortium. “The United States is our primary export market, and initiatives of this caliber are vital to consolidating our brand's positioning while strengthening ties with key strategic partners. It is the perfect prologue to our upcoming participation in Vinitaly.Usa.” (9colonne)
