New Delhi – Performers Maxime Freixas and Francesco Colaleo of Compagnie MF will present their contemporary dance work “Re-Garde” at the Alliance Française in New Delhi on 19 August at 6 p.m. The performance explores the act of looking through a gaze that is both innocent and perceptive, observing the world with curiosity, irony and joy. Inspired by the open, unfiltered perspective of a child, the choreography celebrates the freedom to look, question and affirm. On stage, the two performers become reflections of one another, mirroring their own projections. They shift between opposing roles—enduring and welcoming, giving and surrendering, manipulating and being manipulated, provoking and being abandoned. Their movements are as deliberate as their gaze, yet moments of release, vulnerability and openness emerge throughout the performance. Set within an imagined landscape that is at once dark and absurd yet capable of revealing moments of light, Re-Garde offers a deeply human and sensual reflection on contemporary life. Through a constant interplay of opposites, it blurs the fragile boundaries between youth and old age, strength and vulnerability, reality and imagination, unfolding in a suspended space where movement and poetry meet. The event is organised by the Embassy of Italy and the Italian Cultural Institute in New Delhi. (9colonne)
