Edinburgh – On August 14th, the Italian Cultural Institute of Edinburgh will co-host a concert featuring the Venice Baroque Orchestra at The Queen's Hall in the Scottish capital. The performance is part of the world-renowned Edinburgh International Festival, which celebrates classical music and the performing arts.
Founded and conducted by Maestro Andrea Marcon, the Venice Baroque Orchestra uses period instruments to breathe new life into the works of Antonio Vivaldi. This specific program highlights the rich variety of Vivaldi’s virtuoso pieces for soloists and orchestra, while also exploring the Concerti Grossi of two of his prominent contemporaries: Francesco Geminiani and George Frideric Handel.
