Athens – Roberta Di Laura, an acclaimed Italian dance artist celebrated around the world, once again took center stage in international dance with an outstanding performance opening the third day of the 64th World Congress on Dance Research, held at the Dora Stratou Theatre in Athens. Through her performance, she represented Italy on the international stage. The dancer from Taranto also had the honor of representing Germany, where she has lived for several years. A group of her students traveled from Germany to perform several choreographies created by Di Laura. For more than a decade, Di Laura has promoted the name of Taranto and Puglia around the world, serving as an ambassador for the artistic excellence of her home city and region. Her remarkable career continues to grow steadily. In 2025, she was honored at Palazzo Montecitorio in Rome as one of Italy's 100 outstanding figures, adding another distinction to a career that has taken her to stages across the globe, from Germany, Morocco and the United Arab Emirates to England, Taiwan, Tunisia, Romania, Greece, Spain, Turkey, France and Portugal. For several years, Di Laura has been based in Stuttgart, Germany, where she is regarded as one of the city's most respected and highly regarded dance teachers. Among her activities, she directs the international Tanzfestival Stuttgart as well as a youth dance company. (9colonne)
