Monaco – Around thirty paintings by ten masters of Venetian Vedutism showcase the golden age of 18th-century Venice in “Lumières sur la Lagune,” a new exhibition curated by Italian art dealer and antiquarian Cesare Lampronti, reports QE-Magazine.
Inaugurated on September 23rd at the Hartford Fine Art – Lampronti Gallery, the exhibition features works by Canaletto, Bernardo Bellotto, Michele Marieschi, Francesco Guardi, Giuseppe Bernardino Bison, Francesco Albotto, and Giovanni Battista Cimaroli, among others. Notable highlights include a view of Piazza San Marco painted by Canaletto during his English period, Marieschi’s depiction of the Grand Canal with the Church of San Stae, and a view of the Colosseum by Bernardo Bellotto.
Founded in Rome in 1914, the Lampronti Gallery is now run by its third generation. Following the opening of its London space in St. James’s in 2013, Cesare Lampronti selected Monaco for the next chapter of his international presence, opening Hartford Fine Art – Lampronti Gallery last April. “Lumières sur la Lagune” will remain on display through November 25th.
