From Monday to Friday, BigItalyFocus provides an information overview, ranged from development aid to made in Italy
Dublin – Binary Numbers Matter in Mathematics Too is the title of an event organised by the Italian Cultural Institute in Dublin in collaboration with Irish Math Week and included in the programme for Italian Language Week Around the World 2026. Guido Ramellini, a former teacher at the Italian School in Madrid and a founding member of MMACA, the Mathematics Museum of Catalonia, will guide audiences through the fascinating properties of mathematics. The event will take place on Monday 12 October, from 4pm to 5.30pm, in the Institute’s Pavilion Room. Conducted in Italian, the session will focus on the properties of the binary number system, with particular emphasis on number-based guessing games and mathematical tricks, ranging from the simplest to the more complex. These activities will also allow participants to explore how it is possible to give misleading answers within certain limits and understand how algorithms can be used to identify potential errors. The initiative is aimed at both children and adults, with the goal of introducing as many people as possible to the world of mathematics and its remarkable capabilities. (9colonne)
