Lima – To mark the bicentenary of the birth of Carlo Lorenzini, better known as Carlo Collodi, creator of one of the most beloved characters in world literature, the Italian Cultural Institute is paying tribute to The Adventures of Pinocchio with an exhibition entitled Il vestito nuovo di Pinocchio (Pinocchio’s New Clothes). On display until 31 October, the exhibition is part of the Eccellenze italiane (Italian Excellence) series and has been organised by the Bologna Children’s Book Fair. It celebrates not only Collodi’s creative genius, but also the extraordinary ability of his work to transcend eras, borders and cultures, becoming part of the world’s shared cultural heritage.
