Francesco Cavestri plays Bologna Jazz Festival before embarking on UK tour

London – Pianist, composer and producer Francesco Cavestri is returning to his hometown with the Francesco Cavestri Trio for the 2026 edition of the Bologna Jazz Festival. The performance will take place on Sunday 8 November at 9 pm at Bravo Caffè. The concert marks a key moment in an extraordinary international year for Cavestri, whose performances have taken him to Dubai, New York, Chicago, Toronto, Malta, Ankara and Brussels. Just days after his Bologna Jazz Festival appearance, on 19 November, he will take the stage at the prestigious EFG London Jazz Festival, one of the world’s leading showcases for contemporary jazz, underlining the increasingly international reach of his artistic career. At both the Bologna festival and his UK dates, Cavestri will perform music from his fourth album, Noè, released by Universal Music Italia and named Best New Album of the Week by music streaming platform Qobuz. Critics have described the record as a musical ark, bringing together a wide range of influences, from contemporary electronic music and hip-hop sampling to symphonic elements and piano passages that move between virtuosity and minimalism. Performing as a trio with the same musicians who recorded the album, Cavestri reinterprets the compositions live, leaving room for musical interplay, new rhythmic directions and improvisations that emerge from the dialogue between the players. The concert will also feature a graphic designer creating audio-reactive visuals, generated and transformed in real time in response to the music performed on stage. Sound and images will combine to create a multisensory experience, as unique and unpredictable as the improvisation that inspires it. “Being part of the Bologna Jazz Festival again is a special homecoming for me, and this year it connects directly with our performance at the London Jazz Festival on 19 November,” said Cavestri. “Taking Noè first to Bravo Caffè and then to London means sharing a musical journey that embraces different languages and breaks down genre barriers, both in my hometown and on international stages.” (9colonne)
