Berlin – With the film season “Alain Delon: Voyage en Italie”, Berlin is paying tribute to one of European cinema’s greatest actors, a symbol of the cultural exchange between France and Italy. Although Delon remains an undisputed icon of French cinema, he also starred in some of the most celebrated works of Italian filmmaking, helping to build an enduring artistic and cultural bridge between the two countries. The title “Voyage en Italie” evokes the depth and intensity of this relationship: that between a French actor and some of Italy’s greatest directors, from Luchino Visconti to Michelangelo Antonioni, and from Valerio Zurlini to Duccio Tessari. They recognised in Delon not only the face of a generation, but also the complex sensibility of an artist capable of embodying the very spirit of Europe. The season, organised by the Italian Cultural Institute in Berlin in collaboration with Arsenal Filminstitut, will run from 1 to 17 November at Kino Arsenal. The programme includes Valerio Zurlini’s La prima notte di quiete (Indian Summer), Michelangelo Antonioni’s L’eclisse (L’Eclisse), Luchino Visconti’s Rocco e i suoi fratelli (Rocco and His Brothers) and Duccio Tessari’s Zorro.
