Sydney – On Monday 2 November at 7 pm, Ars Nova Napoli will perform at the Curtains Jazz Club in Sydney in a concert organised by the Italian Cultural Institute. One of the best-known and most acclaimed bands on the Neapolitan Nu Folk scene, Ars Nova Napoli reinterprets traditional music from southern Italy alongside original compositions, creating a distinctive musical experience that celebrates the rich diversity of Mediterranean melodies and musical traditions. The group brings together six talented musicians: Marcello Squillante (vocals, accordion), Vincenzo Racioppi (mandolin, charango), Michelangelo Nusco (violin, trumpet), Antonino Anastasia (frame drums), Gianluca Fusco (guitar, diatonic accordion, vocals) and Bruno Belardi (double bass). The Australian tour is part of the wider Napoli Città Mondo programme. The project was selected by the Neapolis 2500 Committee, established to mark the 2,500th anniversary of the city’s foundation, and is co-funded by Italy’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with the Bellingen Global Carnival.
