May 16 - The Italian military in Kosovo became blood donors in Belo Polje, where today the Italian Village base infirmary welcomed blood donation in favor of the city of Pec and its hospital. The donation, the first for the Italian soldiers in Kosovo, is an initiative of the Alpine Regiment of the Rivoli 1st Maneuver, a logistic support to operational units deployed in the western sector. The activities of the Italian health care personnel in close collaboration with doctors at Pec’s health facility were carried out in compliance with stringent legislation and were greeted with great enthusiasm by the Italian, Austrian, Slovenian and Moldovan colleagues in the " Italian Village," headquarters of the Multinational Battle Group West in the western sector of Kosovo. "We are pleased to have contributed to the primary needs of the population" - said the Colonel Antonio Sgobba, commander of the Italian contingent stationed in Pec.
THE BENEFICIARIES
With this wholly voluntary gesture, the over 100 donors will provide tangible help to the hospital in Pec to meet the daily requirement of blood needed for first aid, surgery, chronic anemia treatment and other emergencies.
