June 24 - From June 27 to July 5 Munich will be the capital of cinema, thanks to a Festival that brings in 70.000 visitors each year. The Munich Film Festival is the second most important film festival in Germany, after Berlin. And Italy will be represented by six films and a TV series. "Le Meraviglie" by Alice Rohrwacher and "Piccola Patria" by Alessandro Rossetto will be screened in the section Cinevision, dedicated to young international filmmakers who created innovative works in terms of language and genres. Every year since 2007 the distribution company Senator Film Verleih hands to the best film the Cinevision Award, worth €12,000. "Sacro Gra" by Gianfranco Rosi and "Tir" by Alberto Fasulo will compete in the International Independents section dedicated to movies on the border between documentary and fiction. "Il Capitale Umano" by Paolo Virzi will be screened in the Spotlight category, where bigger films compete. "Anni felici" by Daniele Luchetti was instead selected for Cinemasters, dedicated to established directors at the international level. "Gomorra", the 12-episode TV series that Sky produced with Cattleya and Fandango in collaboration with LA7 and in association with Beta Film, will be presented in the special section devoted to European television series.

"Gomorra - the series" is a television show created by Italian writer Roberto Saviano, based on the book by the same name. This is the second installation, after the movie "Gomorra" by Matteo Garrone. With excellent directors, such as Stefano Sollima, Francesca Comencini and Claudio Cupellini, the series has been incredibly successful, and the rights have been sold in 50 different countries. The plot centers on the rivalry between the two clans of the Camorra, Savastano and Conte.
