Italian design day, celebrations in Switzerland

(March 16 2017) The Italian Consulate in Basel, in collaboration with AperoAnd and Brunetti Arkitetken, celebrates the first edition of the Italian Design Day on Saturday, March 25 at 5.30 pm, at Vitra Design Museum. The conference will be opened by the greetings of Italian Consul in Basel, Michele Camerota, followed by a screening of the video "Delightful", created by Matteo Garrone and Cqs for Salone del Mobile Milano 2017. Claudio Larcher (Course Leader of the Bachelor of Design at NABA, New Academy of Fine Arts of Milan) will entertain the audience talking about "New technologies-old materials, marble and robotics manufacturing"), Andrea Salvatore (MSc Arch AAM at Brunetti Architekten Basel) will talk about "Seriality and variation of a classical house." With the initiative of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the date March 2 (also with initiatives in other dates) marked the celebrations of Italian design, main driver of "Made in Italy" in the world. In 100 locations around the world, 100 Italian culture "ambassadors" (designers, entrepreneurs, journalists, critics, communicators, teachers etc.) presented Italian design as a unique blend of tangible and intangible factors, that have kept their distinctive characteristics through the centuries and despite communication and mobility systems' great changes: creativity and originality, high quality materials, construction, production processes that are environment, workers and end-users friendly. High quality packaging and advertising.
