Visions of boundaries: <br> the art between Italy and Albania

In the framework of the eighteenth week of the Italian language in the world, the Italian Embassy in Tirana will host the exhibition "Visione di Confini: Albanian artists in the Italian academies of the first half of the twentieth century" until December 31st. Conceived by Artan Shabani, the exhibition gathers some significant works of a selection of Albanian painters who studied in Italian academies and who occupy a place in 20th-century Albanian painting, of which many paintings are exhibited in the most prestigious museums in the country. The works exhibited at the Residenza d'Italia - mostly new - are a precious part of the history of Albanian art and its artists. The exhibition is part of the wider project that the Italian Embassy in Tirana is carrying out for the reconstruction of ties between Italy and Albania during the Cold War years, with the hope that it could constitute a further contribution to the reconstruction of our history and shared culture.
