(13 November 2018) Thursday 15 November at 18:00 the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art presents "A due. Contemporary Art in Italy and Belgium", stemming from a project that took place at the Italian Cultural Institute in Brussels between November 2015 and March 2018. Conceived and curated by Laura Viale, an artist, with the contribution of Maria Elena Minuto, art historian, "A due" has involved Italian and Belgian artists from different walks of life and generations in a series of "dialogic" exhibitions. The combination of artistic worlds at first sight different among them has generated an "artistically unexpected coagulation of circumstances", which in the pages of Luk Lambrecht (artistic coordinator CC Strombeek / Museumcultuur Ghent) is a starting point for a reflection on the encounter with the other as the basis of every cultural practice.  Laura Viale's writing retraces the "A due" project in short strokes.
