The works of Piero della Francesca <br>arrive at the Hermitage

The Italian Ambassador in Moscow, Pasquale Terracciano, inaugurated in St. Petersburg the exhibition on Piero della Francesca at the Hermitage Museum. It is an extraordinary exhibition event featuring six works from Italy (from Venice , Urbino, Perugia, and Sansepolcro). It brings together eleven works by the "Monarch of painting", culminating in the most important exhibition on the painter ever curated abroad, including four manuscripts in addition to the works. Until now exhibitions on Piero della Francesca have only consisted of up to five of his works. And it becomes evident that a world-wide event has been realized in St. Petersburg. "The exhibition, which on one hand closes the 2018 Italian cultural programme in Russia, already very rich in high profile events, represents a bridge that projects us in 2019. It makes us understand that there is never a limit to perfection, and how the Italian-Russian cultural relations, even if excellent, can be strengthened even further" according to Ambassador Terracciano.
