Theatre, Trialogue: Palermo and the social responsibility of architects

Tuesday January 22nd, the "Trialogue" performance will take place at the Italian Institute of Culture in Stockholm. It is an imaginary conversation between three characters that raise questions about the social responsibility of architects, migration and fascism, culture as a colonial tool and sexism in architecture. The dialogue will take place at the Casa del Mutilato, a fascist building in Palermo, Sicily, where the architect Giuseppe Spatrisano receives Lina Bo Bardi and Pietro Maria Bardi. "Trialogue" collects facts and real quotes from the characters who lived in the mid 20th century, which articulate their positions in an atmosphere that recalls a trial, however without plaintiffs nor defenders, and which ends with the sole issuing of a relative judgment to morality in the practice of architecture. The performance, in English, is curated by the architect and artist Tatiana Letier Pinto, researcher in the Decolonizing Architecture programme, and in collaboration with the Kungliga Konsthögskolan in Stockholm as part of the annual Research Week, during which the research projects conducted by faculties, doctoral students and researchers will be presented.
