Music, Giuseppe Bassi <br> Atomic Bass Quartet in concert

(4 April 2019) The Umberto Agnelli Auditorium of the Italian Cultural Institute of Tokyo will host the Giuseppe Bassi Atomic Bass Quartet on Friday April 12th. The Atomic Bass is a musical reactor that produces notes to "cure" the sufferings of nature and of human beings.  A utopia in music developed by Giuseppe Bassi, a long-time double-bass player with a marked social sensitivity.  The Giuseppe Bassi Atomic Bass Quartet brings international musicians together and celebrates the union of two countries - Italy and Japan - with their musical traditions and emotional nuances. A repertoire of original compositions and highly sought after music, which builds an ideal bridge on which jazz meets the traditional Japanese musical culture, in a triumph of sounds and emotions. The positive radioactivity of music, with its 'atomic' strength acts as a backdrop to the event. The concert will be presented by the journalist and writer Antonio Moscatello.  On stage accompanying Bassi, Sumire Kuribayashi on piano, Koto Kono on shinobue and kagurabue, Sebastian Kaptein on drums.
