Johannesburg – Applications for the third edition of the Daniele Tamagni Grant, organized by the Daniele Tamagni Foundation in collaboration with The Market Photo Workshop and Africa Photo Fair, are open until August 20. This grant offers a valuable long-term program focused on photography, photojournalism, and education. It is aimed at emerging photographers whose work centers on the African continent or its diaspora, with no restrictions on the applicant's nationality. Applicants must be over 18 years old, have less than five years of professional experience, and possess a good knowledge of English. The winner will receive a one-year scholarship to attend the Photojournalism and Documentary Photography Programme at the Market Photo Workshop in Johannesburg, from late January 2025 to early December 2025, along with a monthly stipend to cover local living expenses. This year, the winner will also have the opportunity to exhibit their work, developed during the scholarship, at the Africa Photo Fair 2025 (in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire), a partner of the program. Applications will be reviewed by an international jury based on the candidate's documentary and narrative skills, as well as the authenticity, storyline, originality, and overall quality of the submitted portfolio.
