Italy and China join forces for wind turbine manufacturing

Rome - The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed at Palazzo Piacentini between Mimit, the Chinese company MingYang Smart Energy, one of the world's leading wind turbine manufacturers, and Renexia, an Italian company active in the renewables sector and part of the Toto Group, with the goal of establishing a Newco in Italy for the construction of wind turbines. This agreement, signed in the presence of the Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, lays the foundation for completing and strengthening the national industrial supply chain in the sector, thereby contributing to the development of a strategic and important industry like floating offshore wind power. The Newco also aims to establish a production site that is estimated to employ 1,100 people, with an investment of approximately 500 million euros. The location of this site will be determined, in agreement with the government, within 90 days. (9colonne)
