Istanbul – Last days to see Notes on Air, an immersive installation conceived and designed by the interdisciplinary design agency 2050+ for the Salt Beyoglu Forum in Istanbul. The exhibition, organized by Salt Beyoglu in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute of Istanbul, will be open until August 18 at the Salt Beyoglu Forum. The installation reinterprets air toxicity through a mix of materials, sound, and visual experiments. This aesthetic exploration transforms typically intangible or invisible elements into a tangible experience, encouraging visitors to interact with the materiality of the air. An animated reconstruction of the Istanbul sky, created using photogrammetry, highlights and shapes the invisible gaseous substances enveloping the Earth. Notes on Air aims to expand our understanding of the complexities related to the air we breathe, inviting a deeper look not only at the toxicity that permeates and travels through the air but also at the intricate social and political context. 2050+ is an interdisciplinary agency based in Milan that focuses on critical spatial practices at the intersection of technology, politics, and the environment. Founded in 2020, the agency has undertaken various projects, including curatorial and research practices, exhibition design, and architecture.
