Jakarta - Eni announces that the Indonesian authorities have approved the development plan for the Geng North and Gehem fields. The integrated development of these two fields will create a new production hub, named the Northern Hub, in the Kutei Basin. The Indonesian authorities have also approved the development plan for the Gendalo & Gandang fields. Additionally, Eni has secured a 20-year extension of the IDD licenses for the Ganal and Rapak blocks from the Indonesian authorities. Eni is therefore set to achieve significant production of gas and condensates, approximately 2 BCF/d (billion cubic feet, about 57 million cubic meters per day) of gas and 80,000 barrels per day of condensates in the East Kalimantan region, serving both domestic and international markets by leveraging synergies with existing facilities in the area, such as the Bontang LNG plant and the Jangkrik floating production unit. These new developments, along with the ongoing projects in the East Merakes and Maha fields, are the result of the close strategic partnership between Eni and SKK Migas and will have a strong positive impact on local content, while also increasing the utilization of available capacity at the Bontang LNG plant and ensuring gas supply for domestic consumption.
