From Monday to Friday, BigItalyFocus provides an information overview, ranged from development aid to made in Italy
As part of operational activities aimed at ensuring the maintenance of a Safe and Secure Environment, the Commander of the Kosovo Force (COM KFOR), Major General Enrico Barduani, conducted a reconnaissance along the northern part of the demarcation line between Kosovo and Serbia to personally assess the security conditions on the ground. Previously, COM KFOR had carried out a similar activity in the area aboard an aircraft.
Surveillance of northern Kosovo is one of KFOR’s main tasks and is carried out through ground patrols as well as the use of helicopters and drones.
Through deterrence activities, KFOR units play a crucial role in ensuring the area's security, countering illegal activities, and preventing potential actions that could jeopardize regional stability.
Currently, the KFOR mission consists of about 4,300 military personnel, supported by approximately 500 members of the NATO Operational Reserve Forces (ORF), temporarily deployed to maintain a posture capable of addressing unexpected crisis situations. Italy, with its 1,200 service men and women, is the largest contributor to the mission and currently holds its leadership.
