Prague – As part of the Tanec Praha international contemporary dance festival and in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute of Prague, choreographer Simone Sandroni presents his new work Let There Be the Light. The performance debuts today in Plzeň at Moving Station, and on June 5 at 8 PM it will be staged at the Ponec Theatre in Prague.
The piece explores what exists before creation—before the first flash of light breaks the silence. What echoes, images, and sounds give form to the invisible world? These questions shape the latest production choreographed, written, and directed by Sandroni, with artistic collaboration from Honza Malík and performances by The Performing Tribe company.
Sandroni, a founding member of the Brussels-based company Ultima Vez, has had an international career spanning Europe, North America, and Asia. He co-founded Déjà Donné in Prague in 1996 and served as artistic director of the Bielefeld Theatre Dance Company in Germany from 2015 to 2022. His choreography has been featured in major institutions across Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Italy, Canada, and more.
