Nairobi – ITA Airways has announced the expansion of its codeshare agreements with Lufthansa Group airlines to include intercontinental routes, effective from July 1, 2025. The partnership strengthens the airline’s global presence by connecting Italian travelers with key destinations across Africa, Asia, and South America. Under the agreement, ITA’s AZ flight code will appear on several routes operated via Brussels, including flights to Nairobi, Abidjan, Douala, Freetown, Monrovia, and Ouagadougou. These tickets will go on sale in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, passengers flying with Lufthansa Group carriers will benefit from simplified booking on ITA-operated long-haul routes to destinations such as Bangkok, Jeddah, Riyadh, Cairo, Rio de Janeiro, and São Paulo. This strategic move marks a significant step in the integration of ITA Airways into the Lufthansa Group’s global network.
