Kyiv – The Study Visit week of the Ukrainian maritime delegation wrapped up on Saturday, June 14 in Genoa, as part of the EU-funded twinning project involving the Italian Coast Guard and the Italian Maritime Academy Foundation of Genoa. Following a previous visit in October, the June 9–13 mission took place under the project Institutional Support to the State Service for Maritime, Inland Waterway Transport and Shipping of Ukraine. The initiative aims to help Ukraine align its national regulations with European and international maritime standards, drawing on the expertise and resources of an EU member state — in this case, Italy.
The Ukrainian delegation included 14 officials from central maritime administrations in Kyiv and Odesa, covering key areas such as navigation safety, search and rescue operations (SAR), and the national hydrographic service. Participants underwent technical training focused on the implementation of IMO (International Maritime Organization) mandatory instruments and regulations under Flag State responsibilities.
