Seville – The Italian Ambassador to Spain, Giuseppe Buccino Grimaldi, paid a visit to Seville on Wednesday, accompanied by the Consul General in Madrid, Spartaco Caldararo. During his visit, he met with the city’s mayor, José Luis Sanz Ruiz, and the President of Andalusia, Juan Manuel Moreno Bonilla. At both the City Hall and San Telmo Palace, the Ambassador shared updates on the Italian community and Italian businesses in the region. Recent data confirms that the more than 40,000 Italian residents in Andalusia are exceptionally well integrated into the region’s social, cultural, and scientific fabric. At the same time, tourism flows from Italy continue to grow, contributing to record numbers of international visitors in Spain’s most populous autonomous community, with Seville as its capital.
These positive dynamics are greatly supported by the excellent cooperation between local authorities and the Italian diplomatic and consular network, known for its reliability and active engagement. The meetings also provided an opportunity to discuss Andalusia’s remarkable economic growth in recent years, spanning both traditional sectors—such as tourism and agri-food—and emerging ones like renewable energy and aerospace.
