Malaysian Prime Minister receives Italian edition of his book “The Asian Renaissance”

Kuala Lumpur – For the first time, The Asian Renaissance by Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia, is available in Italian. Originally published in 1996, the book remains highly relevant today amid Asia’s growing centrality on the global stage and Malaysia’s expanding role. The Italian edition was released by Anteo Edizioni, which also oversaw the translation.
A copy of the book was personally handed to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim during his visit to Rome, where he held high-level meetings with Italian businesses to strengthen bilateral cooperation. The handover took place in the presence of Stefano Bonilauri, director of Anteo Edizioni, and Domenico Palmieri, Secretary General of ISIA.
“This work, first published more than two decades ago, emphasizes the powerful vision of an Asian renaissance built on the pillars of knowledge, culture, openness, and justice, as a response to global imbalances and the dominance of Western narratives,” wrote Anwar Ibrahim on his social media platforms.
“I deeply appreciate the dedication of the Italian scholar who translated this work, allowing for wider understanding and dialogue around ideas of democracy and sustainable development,” the Prime Minister added. “This effort is not just a translation—it's a bridge of ideas,” he said, highlighting the importance of narrowing the gap between East and West, especially in a world that appears increasingly fragmented.
