Apeldoorn – Italy’s women’s national volleyball team, coached by Julio Velasco, has arrived in Apeldoorn for Week 3 of the Volleyball Nations League, the final stage of the intercontinental round. From Wednesday, July 9 to Sunday, July 13, the team will compete in the last leg before the Finals, aiming to secure a spot among the top eight that will advance to the showdown in Łódź, Poland (July 23–27).
Italy enters this stage at the top of the leaderboard, with 22 points and an impeccable record of eight wins from eight matches played across Rio de Janeiro and Hong Kong. In Pool 7, the Azzurre will face Belgium (July 9, 5 PM), Serbia (July 10, 5 PM), Turkey (July 12, 7 PM), and host nation the Netherlands (July 13, 4 PM).
As the reigning Olympic champions and titleholders, the Italian team is determined to maintain their momentum and secure mathematical qualification for the Finals. Poland, as host country, is already guaranteed a spot regardless of their standing.
