Italy claims historic bronze at European 3x3 Basketball Championship

Copenhagen – Amedeo Della Valle, Carlo Fumagalli, Raphael Gaspardo and Dario Masciarelli delivered Italy’s first-ever medal in men’s 3x3 basketball at the European Championships, securing a historic bronze in Copenhagen.
Guided by coach Claudio Negri, the Italian quartet advanced from Pool A after defeating Switzerland (23–20 in overtime) and falling to Serbia (21–15). On the final day, they overcame the Netherlands 21–18 in the quarterfinals before being stopped by Lithuania in the semis (21–15). Lithuania went on to claim gold against Latvia.
In the bronze-medal match, Italy dominated Germany 22–15. After a slow start against the Germans’ physical play, the Azzurri took control in the second half to seal victory. “This is a historic result that rewards the hard work of recent months,” said coach Negri, praising the mix of seasoned 3x3 specialists and newcomers who quickly adapted to the discipline and team spirit.
