Hamburg’s Italian Institute Previews International Short Film Day

Hamburg – Since 2011, the shortest day of the year - 21 December - has been celebrated around the globe as International Short Film Day. More than fifty countries take part, offering screenings in cinemas, television programming, and dedicated events. The initiative has grown steadily, turning the occasion into a rare showcase for short films, which during the rest of the year often remain confined to the festival circuit.
The Italian Cultural Institute in Hamburg will mark the event a little early, hosting on 19 December at 7 p.m. a curated selection of short films assembled by the Italian National Short Film Center. The programme offers an overview of recent Italian production and emerging voices in contemporary filmmaking. (9colonne)
