Houston – ITA Airways has announced one of the key additions to its upcoming summer schedule: a new direct intercontinental service connecting Rome Fiumicino with Houston, marking the first time the two cities will be linked by a non-stop flight.
The route, already available for booking, will launch on 1 May 2026. During May, the airline will operate three weekly flights (Wednesday, Friday, Sunday), departing Rome at 10:20 a.m. and landing at Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport at 3:40 p.m. local time. From 1 June to 24 October, frequencies will increase to five per week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday).
Return flights from Houston will follow the same schedule pattern, departing at 6:10 p.m. and arriving in Rome at 11:50 a.m. the following day.
The route will be flown with the Airbus A330-900, a new-generation aircraft showcasing Italian design, enhanced efficiency, and cutting-edge technology. With the addition of Houston, ITA Airways expands to nine destinations in North America - its most strategic overseas market - joining New York, Boston, Miami, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington D.C., and, in summer, Chicago and Toronto.
