From Monday to Friday, BigItalyFocus provides an information overview, ranged from development aid to made in Italy
Copenhagen – The exhibition Pink: Women in Italian Graphic Design. From Origins to the Present will open on January 15 at the Italian Cultural Institute in Copenhagen, with curator Francesco E. Guida, professor at Politecnico di Milano, in attendance. Organized by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and curated by AIAP (Italian Association of Visual Communication Design), the exhibition will run until March 16.
The exhibition highlights the contributions of women in Italian graphic design from the 1940s to today, showcasing professionals whose work has shaped Italy’s visual identity but often received limited recognition. It traces key moments in Italian history, from the economic boom and the rise of Made in Italy brands to contemporary socio-cultural changes, including the digital transition and evolving forms of visual communication.
Featured designers include pioneers such as Anita Klinz, Jeanne Michot Grignani, and Lora Lamm, as well as later generations like Elisabetta Ognibene, Elena Green, and Silvana Amato, the first Italian member of the Alliance Graphique Internationale. Over forty designers are represented, including award winners of AIAP’s Women in Design Award (AWDA).
