Bogotá – Visitors have until 15 February to experience Pánico Efímero, the first institutional exhibition by Italian artist Ambra Castagnetti, created specifically for the Museum of Modern Art of Bogotá. Opened in October, the exhibition brings together a series of site-specific works that explore shifting identities, transitional states of being, and the complex relationship between the human body, matter and surrounding space. Castagnetti works across multiple disciplines - sculpture, painting, installation, video and performance - employing materials such as wax, ceramic, stainless steel and paraffin. The result is a visual universe that moves fluidly between poetic suggestion and political reflection. The exhibition unfolds in three acts - ritual, icon and metamorphosis - which were activated through a live performance on opening day. The project stems from a two-month artist residency in Bogotá, during which Castagnetti immersed herself in the city’s material textures, social dynamics and cultural atmosphere, allowing them to shape the conceptual and physical language of the works on display.
