Barcelona - Barcelona’s Gran Teatre del Liceu will host a special tribute to Giuseppe Verdi on February 13 at 8:30 pm, marking the 125th anniversary of the composer’s death. The event, titled Gala Verdiano, is organized by the Italian Cultural Institute of Barcelona with the patronage of the Italian Consulate General. The Opera Nostra Company will present an operatic recital featuring arias for voice and piano, entirely devoted to Verdi’s vast and enduring repertoire. The program is structured in three sections, each reflecting a key phase of the composer’s artistic journey: the early “Risorgimento” works, the celebrated Trilogia Popolare, and the masterpieces of his later years. Taking the stage will be pianist and conductor Davide Dellisanti, alongside mezzosoprano Leyla Martinucci, bass Andrea Carcassi, tenor Luca Vissani, baritone Marco Guarini and tenor Facundo Muñoz, for an evening that promises to celebrate one of Italy’s greatest musical legacies.
