Venice – 2025 sets a new historical record for tourism data in Veneto. The year closes with figures higher than 2024, with over 22 million arrivals (+2.3%) and more than 74 million overnight stays (+0.9%). These are the preliminary numbers from the regional tourism statistics in Veneto, pending official publication by Istat. The results are driven by growing interest from both Italian tourists (+2.4% arrivals) and international visitors (+2.3%). Positive trends are observed for both the hotel sector (arrivals +1.2%, overnight stays +0.3%) and non-hotel accommodations (arrivals +3.9%, overnight stays +1.4%). Hotels host the majority of tourists (56.8%) and account for 41.4% of total overnight stays. Most tourists visit Veneto to explore an art city (+1.6% arrivals and +0.9% overnight stays). Coastal municipalities recorded a +2.6% increase in arrivals and virtually stable overnight stays (+0.1%). Both foreign and Italian tourists grew in these areas, but for Italians, the length of stay dropped below five nights for the first time. At the lakes, tourist arrivals grew (+1.4%), while overnight stays increased slightly (+0.3%), indicating a marginally shorter average stay (2.3 nights for Italians and 5 nights for foreigners). “The numbers highlight an excellent performance for Veneto’s tourism sector, making 2025 the new record year in terms of visitor flows and confirming it as a driving force of our regional economy,” commented Vice President and Tourism and Labor Councilor Lucas Pavanetto.
