From Monday to Friday, BigItalyFocus provides an information overview, ranged from development aid to made in Italy
Hamburg – Composer, pianist, and conductor Carlo Boccadoro will perform at the Istituto Italiano di Cultura di Amburgo on Wednesday, 25 February, at 7:00 pm.
The concert will offer a wide-ranging overview of contemporary Italian music, a landscape rich in contrasting and sometimes opposing aesthetic approaches.
The program moves from the brief, almost aphoristic miniatures of Giorgio Colombo Taccani to the rhapsodic reflections of Fabio Massimo Capogrosso, from the ethereal lightness of Francesco Filidei to the dialogue between past and present found in the works of Filippo Del Corno.
The journey continues with the frenetic minimalist perpetual motion of Ludovico Einaudi and the ironic Bach-inspired reinterpretations by Cesare Picco. The severe abstraction of a piece by Carlo Galante contrasts sharply with the swirling, energetic writing of Silvia Colasanti.
Boccadoro will also perform his own work Cruel Beauty, which reimagines a melody by Claudio Monteverdi in a radically different contemporary context. The program concludes with two quieter moments: the raw, austere page by Mauro Montalbetti, followed by the gentle, transparent Adagio by Federico Gardella.
The event is organized in collaboration with the Istituto Italiano di Cultura di Colonia, where Boccadoro will perform again on Thursday, 26 February.
