At Palazzo Balbi, the regional headquarters of Regione Veneto, Veneto’s Regional Councillor for Social Services Paola Roma welcomed the mayor of Beit Sahour, Elias Iseed, on 26 February, marking a renewed commitment to local-level cooperation and dialogue.
“This meeting is not only about strengthening relations between our territories through the work of local institutions,” Roma said, “but also about sharing a special reflection on young people. My hope is that those who have experienced war firsthand will be the first to develop a constructive, peace-oriented vision for the future.”
The visit follows an institutional mission to Israel and the Palestinian territories organized in January by the Chamber of Commerce of Treviso and Belluno. The initiative highlighted the role of local administrations in fostering dialogue from the ground up, promoting mutual understanding and long-term cooperation despite complex geopolitical realities.
