Bogotá – As part of Italian Design Day 2026, the ADI Design Museum in Milan, in collaboration with the Italian Embassy in Bogotá, the Italian Cultural Institute in Bogotá and the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, is organizing the exhibition “Dearest Pinocchio: Italian Designers and Graphic Artists Redesign the World’s Most Famous Puppet.” The show will open on March 17 at 5 p.m. at the Faculty of Architecture and Design of the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. After stops in Milan, San Francisco, Skopje, Pristina, Tirana, Seattle, Tallinn, Belgrade, Zagreb, Smyrna, Bodrum, Toronto, Istanbul and Mexico City, Bogotá is the new destination for the exhibition, which will be on display until April 10 in the Sala de Bienestar of the Faculty of Architecture and Design at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. Promoted as part of an international tour with the support of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the exhibition is curated by Giulio Iacchetti and presents a selection of design projects created by Italian companies, along with a special section of new works specifically produced for the show. The exhibition offers a broader look at Italian design while celebrating the myth of Geppetto, regarded as Italy’s first designer. It is a cross-disciplinary exhibition project and “an opportunity to celebrate a masterpiece of Italian literature, with the aim of strengthening the multidisciplinary nature of design as a form of cultural richness capable of raising questions about our everyday actions,” as ADI Design Museum president Luciano Galimberti explained.
