Amsterdam – The Italian Cultural Institute in Amsterdam will host a special concert by the Lendvay Ensemble on March 17 at 7:30 p.m., dedicated to women composers from around the world. Titled “Inedite – Pioneer Voices, Free Voices,” the concert highlights composers who, between the 17th and 20th centuries, managed to assert their artistic voice despite the gender inequalities that shaped the musical landscape of the past three centuries.
The program pays tribute to pioneering women artists whose creative contributions often remained on the margins of the classical repertoire, celebrating their role in challenging the social and artistic conventions of their time. Founded by Hungarian violinist József Lendvay, the Lendvay Ensemble brings together internationally acclaimed musicians who regularly perform across Europe in formations ranging from duos to quintets. For the Amsterdam concert, the performers will be József Lendvay on violin, Letizia Maulà on clarinet and Katja Dirven–Didychenko on cello.
