Mexico City – Florence will serve as a bridge between Tuscany and Mexico. From April 16 to 19, the Tuscan capital hosts “Toscana e Messico: alianza de tradición y excelencia,” an initiative promoted by the Honorary Consulate of Mexico in Florence, bringing together institutions, businesses, and cultural actors in a program of meetings and events. The initiative will feature Mexico’s Ambassador to Italy, Genaro Lozano, along with institutional, business, and academic representatives, including business networking sessions, meetings with the Tuscany Region, the Municipality of Florence, and universities, as well as cultural and social events in the cloister of Santa Maria Novella, where the traditions and gastronomy of the two countries – from tacos to ribollita – will meet. A mobile consulate will also open on Via de’ Bardi. Within this framework, the participation of the Chianti Wine Consortium, a partner of the initiative, will help promote Tuscan food and wine excellence at key events throughout the four-day program. “Wine is one of the most immediate languages for connecting different cultures, and Chianti, in particular, is a symbol of Tuscany that naturally engages with international contexts like this,” said Saverio Galli Torrini, Director of the Chianti Wine Consortium. “The Mexican market is of great interest to us, where there is a growing community of enthusiasts and Chianti lovers attentive to quality and product identity. Initiatives like this are also important to strengthen and further develop this connection,” he concluded. (9colonne)
