Lisbon hosts the first event in a four-part series titled “Knocking on Heaven’s Doors: A Journey Through Dante’s Paradise,” curated by Professor Giovanni Ricciardi and promoted by the Italian Cultural Institute.
On May 4 at 6:30 PM, Ricciardi—Italian language lecturer at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Lisbon—will present and read Canto I and II of Dante Alighieri’s Paradiso. The opening session, “Knocking on the Doors of Paradise: A Journey Through the Heavens,” will explore the structure of Paradise and Dante’s poetic use of light. (9colonne)
