Brussels – An event dedicated to Igp labels will take place today, April 22, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the European Parliament. EU Regulation 2023/2411, in force since 2023 and applicable from December 2025, introduces Igp (Protected Geographical Indication) protection for European artisanal and industrial products. The Belgian-Italian Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with Confartigianato and CNA Brussels and involving representatives of Italian craftsmanship, Members of the European Parliament, officials from the European Commission, EUIPO, government representatives, and the Italian SME ecosystem, is organizing an Italian-language event titled “Geographical Indication for artisanal products: a great opportunity for Italian artisans and Made in Italy.” The aim is to discuss the regulation and its application for Made in Italy artisans; engage with technical stakeholders on the steps of the certification process by analyzing procedures, critical issues, and opportunities for protection; and give a voice to craft businesses intending to obtain geographical indication under the new regulation—its constraints and opportunities. The event will also be available via live streaming. (9colonne)
