Athens – The Italian Cultural Institute of Athens, in collaboration with Comicdom CON Athens, is organizing a screening of the documentary Manara, directed by Valentina Zanella. The event will take place on Sunday 17 May at 5 p.m. at the Technopolis City of Athens. The documentary explores Milo Manara, the creator who revolutionized comics by giving voice to female desire. The artist retraces his career: from his apprenticeship alongside Hugo Pratt and the depiction of sex as a political act in the iconic Il Gioco, to his legendary collaboration with Federico Fellini. The film also features testimonies from figures such as Paolo Conte, Jacques Glénat, Tanino Liberatore, Vincenzo Mollica, Frank Miller, and Nicola Piovani. The Italian Cultural Institute is also hosting, until 20 May, the exhibition “Manara and Fellini: Dream and Drawing”. On Saturday 16 May at 11 a.m., a guided tour of the exhibition will be available upon reservation via email at eventi.iicatene@esteri.it. (9colonne)
