Italy-Tunisia / Rondò Veneziano triumphs in Carthage

Carthage - The Roman Amphitheatre of Carthage set the stage for a night of exceptional music and emotion as Rondò Veneziano headlined one of the most anticipated events of the 60th Carthage International Festival. The concert was held as part of the "Summer of Italian Music" initiative, organized by the Italian Embassy in Tunis and the Italian Cultural Institute. Adding to the significance of the evening was the presence of Maestro Gian Piero Reverberi, founder and longtime conductor of the famous ensemble, who returned to the podium for what organizers noted as one of his final public appearances. His performance gave the night a deeply symbolic touch, met with enthusiasm by the audience. Set within the iconic ruins of the ancient Roman theater, Rondò Veneziano performed their signature repertoire blending Baroque harmonies with contemporary sounds, a formula that has captivated audiences globally for over forty years. The concert was a highlight of the 2026 edition of the Carthage International Festival (running from July 12 to August 23), a historic event that brings national and international artists to one of the Mediterranean's most breathtaking archaeological sites each summer. Organizers announced that a recording of the performance will be released on video.
