Cáceres – The Italian Cultural Institute of Madrid is collaborating with the prestigious Escena Patrimonio Festival, a platform dedicated to choreographic creation and cultural exchange that brings together 15 Spanish cities designated as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. For its ninth edition, the festival will present 15 contemporary dance and performing arts productions in venues of particular cultural and historical significance in each participating city. On September 11 at 9 p.m., at the Foro de los Balbos in Cáceres, the Italian Cultural Institute of Madrid will present Jongleurs, the latest production by Italian contemporary dance company Kor'sia, directed by choreographers Mattia Russo and Antonio de Rosa. The company is considered one of the most innovative forces on the European choreographic scene. Based in Madrid, Kor'sia has developed an original artistic language combining dance, visual arts, music, literature and architecture, creating works distinguished by their strong aesthetic and conceptual exploration. Its most significant productions include Cul de sac, Somiglianza, Igra, Simulacro and Mont Ventoux, which received the 2023 Fedora – Van Cleef & Arpels Prize and further strengthened the company's international profile. Inspired by the medieval figure of the jester, Jongleurs explores themes of memory, transformation and community through dance, music and a powerful visual component. The cast features Paul Raer Mackiewicz, Charles Heinrich, Artūrs Nīgalis, Jules Pasteau and Alessandro Ottaviani. The production includes original music by Alejandro da Rocha, dramaturgy by Agnès López-Río, costumes by Luca Guarini and set design by the two choreographers themselves.
