Liguria’s maritime sector returns to Cannes Yachting Festival 2026

Cannes - For the fifth consecutive year, the Italian region of Liguria is making a collective showing at the Cannes Yachting Festival, coordinated by the Riviere di Liguria Chamber of Commerce. This well-established joint effort—spearheaded by the Chamber’s special agency alongside the Liguria Region and Liguria International—offers a prime promotional showcase for local maritime businesses and connected services.
Running through September 13, the Cannes Yachting Festival highlights emerging industry trends, with a special emphasis on "slow yachting." This approach focuses on relaxed, multi-stop coastal navigation, deep immersion in local seaside culture, and a stronger commitment to marine conservation. Marking its 49th edition, the world-renowned boat show features over 680 exhibitors, a fleet of 700 vessels ranging from 5 to 50 meters, a comprehensive array of marine equipment and services, roughly 150 global debuts, and an expected 56,000 international visitors.
The Ligurian pavilion also spotlights local initiatives like the Miglio Blu (Blue Mile) and the Blue Design Summit, organized in collaboration with the Municipality of La Spezia.
"The maritime industry is an essential cornerstone of the Ligurian economy. Supporting its growth and strengthening its presence in key international markets is a top priority," stated Alessio Piana, Regional Minister for Economic Development.
"Marking our fifth year at the festival, Liguria's presence has firmly established itself, alongside the growing value of our local marine enterprises," added Enrico Lupi, President of the Riviere di Liguria Chamber of Commerce. "We are thrilled to support the growth of forward-thinking companies that drive innovation and deliver essential services across our region, from east to west. As always, we are proud to partner with La Spezia’s Miglio Blu, which represents some of the world's most prestigious shipyards based right in the Gulf of Poets."
