On Wednesday, September 9, at 7:00 PM, the Italian Cultural Institute in Hamburg will host a performance by the duo of Luca Zennaro (guitar) and Michelangelo Scandroglio (double bass). Recognized as two of the most promising emerging voices in European jazz, the duo delivers a distinct sound that bridges jazz, folk, and contemporary music.
Conceived between the rooftops of Venice and the streets of Florence, the project stands out for its deliberate absence of a traditional rhythm instrument. This arrangement allows both musicians to explore new sonic and timbral possibilities, fostering a deep musical dialogue and a shared artistic identity. Their repertoire features original compositions crafted specifically for this setup, alongside reimagined Italian classics, ranging from Puccini and traditional Maremma folk songs to iconic film scores by Ennio Morricone.
