Tokyo - Marking the centenary of the premiere of Giacomo Puccini’s Turandot at La Scala on April 26, 1926, the Italian Cultural Institute in Tokyo hosted an evening dedicated to Turandot delle Stelle. Created and directed by Davide Giannoni and Francesca Pasquinucci of Imaginarium Creative Studio, the video-mapping and live music performance blends Puccini's unfinished masterpiece with live performance, hand-drawn illustrations, and projections that transform the venue into a moving cosmos. The narrative centers on a young Puccini’s imaginary global journey in search of the perfect sounds, bridging Italian musical tradition with local cultures. The Japanese staging featured a collaboration with artistic production company Komainu Kikaku, integrating traditional Japanese koto and shakuhachi instruments performed by Hosokawa Takahiro and Yashiro Saori.
